Building Blocks of Business Success: Small Business Entrepreneurship Workshop

Whether you're just stepping into the entrepreneurial world, already own a small business, or are considering a fresh start in the business realm, this no-cost series is tailored for you.

Led by our experienced leadership team, volunteer board, and expert guests, each session from 9 am to 4 pm will cover topics crucial for business success, including business model understanding, comprehensive planning, financial projections, and navigating legal challenges. Enjoy the added benefits of a complimentary lunch, networking opportunities, and a celebratory wrap-up session with key stakeholders.

DAY ONE: JULY 13th

Morning Session:

Understanding the Business Model Canvas
- Participants will learn to understand and utilize the Business Model Canvas, guided by Lizette Epps and Adonis Fleming, with support from FCFCU counselors.

Afternoon Session:

The Importance of a Comprehensive Business Plan
- This session focuses on integrating the Business Model Canvas with traditional business plans, featuring practical exercises and guidance from Lizette Epps and Adonis Fleming.

DAY TWO: JULY 20th

Morning Session:

Developing Three-Year Pro Formas
- Attendees will be introduced to financial forecasting, creating income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, facilitated by Marilyn Morel.

Afternoon Session:

Selecting Responsible Resources for Your Business
- This session emphasizes the importance of building a reliable advisory team, including attorneys, accountants, and bankers, led by Marilyn Morel.

DAY THREE: JULY 27th

Morning Session:

Navigating Legal and Financial Challenges
- Participants will learn about legal and financial considerations for startups, including tax obligations, cash flow management, and risk mitigation, facilitated by Marilyn Morel and a business attorney.

Afternoon Session:

Entrepreneurs Wrap-Up Session
- The final session features a keynote address from a successful entrepreneur, mock interviews with professionals, and a networking opportunity to consolidate learnings and build connections, facilitated by Juan Martinez and Marilyn Morel.
