Year of Giving

A Milestone Celebration

At First Commonwealth Federal Credit Union, we’re all about DOING GOOD and GIVING BACK to improve the lives of our members, friends, neighbors and communities in the Greater Lehigh Valley. This has come naturally to us since 1959, and this year we’re taking giving new heights. Thanks to the generosity of our Board of Directors, we’re giving more than $100,000 to charities throughout the Greater Lehigh Valley as part of our $1 BILLION milestone celebration.

Throughout 2022, First Commonwealth FCU will invest $100,000 back into our communities through generous donations to charities throughout the Greater Lehigh Valley. It’s because of YOU – our family of over 70,000 members and 1,800 employer partners – that we’re able to do more good, for more people in our communities.

What’s important to YOU?

We’re on a mission to empower the pursuit of financial happiness, and we need your help! As a member-owned financial cooperative, what's important to our members is important to us. Each month, our First Commonwealth FCU WE Thrive Foundation will make generous contributions to local charitable organizations within the following areas of focus:

+ Family & Youth Services
Regardless of one’s definition of family, the importance of family starts at birth and is a constant throughout life. As children grow into their teens and early adulthood, families can be a source of support during times of change and challenge. Local youth services do a vital job in our communities. The benefits they provide for young people are impactful, real, and long-lasting. We will seek out organizations that support the health and wellness of families and youth in our community.
+ Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
We believe the key to success is to understand, empower and operate in a multicultural world that embraces and champions diversity and advocates for equity. Financial inclusion is a challenge for unbanked and underbanked populations, and we will continue to work to provide equitable access to financial education, financial resources, and financial tools to build strong, healthy, and well individuals, families, and communities. Our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion focus will seek out organizations that strive to provide everyone with equal access to information, development, and opportunity.
+ Homelessness & Housing
There is a powerful connection between homelessness and access to housing. Increasing awareness of housing as a core social determinant of personal health, familial health, and well-being has been proven. Housing stability is essential for people to address their challenges, provide for personal safety and pursue their goals. We will seek out organizations that recognize and support those struggling with these issues.
+ Education & Wellness
We believe that education is the key to financial confidence, financial wellness, and financial inclusion. We will seek out organizations that support the community in terms of providing those in need, information, knowledge, and resources. This may be through supporting programs that empower individuals to achieve financial happiness and obtain scholarships

We will be sending a monthly email with a brief survey so you can score the charitable areas in order of importance to YOU. As a First Commonwealth FCU member, your input will help determine the charitable organizations we invest in and give to throughout our community.

THANK YOU for your membership, loyalty, and trust, and for choosing First Commonwealth FCU in your pursuit of financial happiness

With gratitude,
